The 4th Industrial Revolution was coined by the World Economic Forum in 2015 to describe the ongoing digital transformation of the industrial sector. The pandemic accelerated this transformation process with ever tighter global supply chains, and new, digitalized, and hybrid ways of doing business. Other major forces such as the fight for climate change are driving the need to rethink how we procure, manufacture and distribute in a sustainable way.

The adoption of new technologies like 3D printing and intelligent robotics is forecasted by the World Economic Forum to pave the way for 97 million new roles between 2020 and 2025. These roles will require leaders to be technologically agile, innovative, and expansive in their approach to business and change. They will also require leaders who focus on the physical and mental well-being of their employees.

A few of the roles that we foresee trending in the industrial sector of the near future include:

Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer
Chief Digital Officer
