Giny Mullins: The evolving human capital within private portfolio companies.

July 2021

Giny E. Mullins is Managing Director at Linx Partners, a private investment firm that partners with family owners, entrepreneurs, and management to acquire and grow middle-market industrial companies.

Giny holds over two decades of experience investing in and advising private middle-market companies. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Reconstruction Experts, Carolina Precision Technologies, Sagent, and Transglobal Services and is a member of the Board of Gullett & Associates and Atlanta ACG. She was previously Chairman of Tidewater Equipment and a member of the board of Cimarron Energy and Elite Express.

Before joining Linx, Giny worked as an Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and Financial Sponsors Coverage Group of Robert W. Baird’s Investment Banking Division, where she analyzed transactions in a broad range of industries. She also previously worked in the Debt Portfolio Acquisitions Group of Orix Financial Services and for the middle-market commercial lending group of American National Bank.

In her conversation with Chase, senior partner at Kingsley Gate Partners, Giny takes us through the process of evaluating human capital within private portfolio companies to understand what can help augment the growth to the next level, the evolving culture of businesses with an increasing focus on accountability—and fun—to maintain the entrepreneurial spirit of the company, and the prevalence of diversity, equity, and inclusion and ESG for middle market companies as well as large organizations. Giny also talks about what makes companies attractive to Linx as partners, the difference between having the data and understanding the power of that data, the changing role of the new CFO function within portfolio companies—and a lot more!
