JC Gutierrez-Ramos Named Chief Scientific Officer for Danaher

Danaher Corporation has tapped Jose-Carlos (“JC”) Gutierrez-Ramos as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer. As a member of the executive team, he will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer, Rainer M. Blair. Most recently, JC was Abbvie’s Head of Global Drug Discovery and a member of the company’s Executive R&D team. He previously led Repertoire Immune Medicines and Synlogic as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he was a leader in research & development for several companies, including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Avidia and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. His earlier career includes serving as a Professor with Harvard Medical School and for the Spanish Scientific Research Council at the National Center of Biotechnology in Spain.
