Dr. Robert Blumofe Takes On Chief Technology Officer Role with Akamai Technologies

Akamai Technologies has promoted Dr. Robert Blumofe to the reestablished Chief Technology Officer position. Robert will focus on innovation strategy across 5G, IoT and other technologies. He has served Akamai in several leadership roles over the last 21 years, most recently as Executive Vice President of Platform, as well as General Manager of the Enterprise Division. He was previously an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career with Cadre Technologies as a Software Engineer.
