Andy Jassy to Lead Amazon as Chief Executive Officer as Jeff Bezos Steps Down
Amazon has announced that Andy Jassy will take over as Chief Executive Officer during the third quarter of 2021. The appointment follows the announcement that Founder Jeff Bezos will step down as Chief Executive Officer and transition to Executive Chairman later this year. Andy began both his tenure with Amazon and his career in 1997, when he joined the company in a functional marketing role. He steadily worked his way up through the ranks, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
