Pierre-Alain Ruffieux Appointed Chief Executive Officer for Lonza Group

Lonza Group has hired Pierre-Alain Ruffieux as its newest Chief Executive Officer. Pierre-Alain previously served as Head of Global Pharma Technical Operations for Roche, where he was responsible for pharmaceutical commercial manufacturing and supply chain operations. Pierre-Alain succeeds Albert Baehny, Interim CEO, who will stay on to help the transition.

Lonza Group AG produces organic fine chemicals, biocides, active ingredients, and biotechnology products. The company is based in Basel, Switzerland and has more than 15,500 employees in more than 120 locations around the world. In 2019, Lonza Group achieved global sales of 5.9 CHF billion.
