Karen S. Lynch Named President & CEO of CVS Health

CVS Health has promoted Karen S. Lynch to President and Chief Executive Officer beginning February 1, 2021. She will also become a Member of the Board of Directors at that time. Currently, Karen serves as both Executive Vice President of CVS Health and President of Aetna. Previously, she was President of Magellan Health Services after holding various leadership positions with Cigna. Karen succeeds Larry J. Merlo, who announced he will retire on May 31, 2021. Larry will continue serving on the Board of Directors, as well as serving as a Strategic Advisor to assist with the leadership transition, until May 2021.

CVS Health is an American healthcare company that owns CVS Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy chain; CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits manager; Aetna, a health insurance provider, among many other brands. The company is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI and employs approximately 300,000 individuals. CVS Health posted revenues of $256.8 billion for 2019.
