Dr. Shantanu Agrawal to be Anthem’s Chief Health Officer

Dr. Shantanu Agrawal will join Anthem as Chief Health Officer on January 25, 2021. Shantanu will be responsible for enterprise health strategy, efforts around social drivers of health, community health strategy and the Anthem Foundation. He will report to Anthem’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Gail K. Boudreaux. Shantanu most recently led the National Quality Forum (NQF) as President and Chief Executive Officer. He is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences as well. His previous roles include serving as Deputy Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,as well as Managing Director for ChenMed. Prior to that, he was Chief Medical Officer and Director of Data Sharing and Partnership, Center for Program Integrity with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He began his career as a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company.
