Chris Toth to be Chief Executive Officer of Varian After Combining with Siemens Healthineers

Varian has named Chris Toth Chief Executive Officer, effective after the company combines with Siemens Healthineers during the first half of 2021. Chris will then report to Dr. Bernd Montag, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Healthineers. He has spent his career with Varian, earning roles of increasing leadership capacity throughout his tenure. He joined the company as an intern, ultimately moving his way up into such roles as President & Chief Operating Officer and President of Varian Oncology Systems. Chris will succeed retiring Chief Executive Officer, Dow Wilson.

Varian Medical Systems is a radiation oncology treatments and software maker based in Palo Alto, CA. Its medical devices include linear accelerators and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy. In August 2020, Varian Medical Systems was acquired by Siemens Healthineers for $16.4 billion.
