Gerben W. Bakker to lead Hubbell Inc. as new Chief Executive Officer

Hubbell Inc. has appointed Gerben W. Bakker as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member once David G. Nord’s retirement is effective October 1, 2020. Gerben has had an extensive career with Hubbell, most recently holding the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Throughout his time with Hubbell, Gerben has introduced a new operating rhythm to the enterprise, overseen a multi-year period of strong performance and led many key acquisitions. Gerben began as a manufacturing engineer with Hubbell Wiring Systems, and has been consistently promoted throughout his time with the company, primarily within the utility and electrical segments.

Hubbell Incorporated designs, manufactures and sells electrical and electronic products for non-residential and residential construction, industrial and utility applications. In 2019, Hubbell had record net sales of $4.6 billion, driven by 2% organic growth. Hubbell has about 19,000 employees.
