Celine Herweijer Tapped as HSBC’s First Chief Sustainability Officer

HSBC Holdings will welcome Celine Herweijer to the newly-created Chief Sustainability Officer position in July 2021. She will report directly to Noel Quinn, Chief Executive Officer. She will be tasked with spearheading the bank’s efforts to become a net-zero emissions bank by the year 2050. Celine joins from PwC, where she served as a Partner, leading Sustainability and Innovation globally. Previously, she has held roles with Risk Management Solutions (RMS) and Lighthill Risk Network.
