Barclays Group Announces Leadership Changes
Barclays Group has announced the following leadership changes, effective January 1, 2021:
- Crawford Gillies will become Director and Chair of Barclays Bank UK PLC. He will succeed Sir Ian Cheshire. He will also transition out of his role as Senior Independent Director of Barclays. He will continue to serve on the Remuneration Committee until Brian Gilvary takes over in March 2021.
- Sir Ian Cheshire will step down as Director and Chair, but will remain on through May 2021 to help with the transition.
- Brian Gilvary will become Senior Independent Director of Barclays, succeeding Crawford Gillies. He will additionally become a Member of the Risk and Nominations Committees on that date. He will also join the Remuneration Committee in March 2021.
Barclays Group has announced the following leadership changes, effective April 1, 2021:
- Julia Wilson will become a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Barclays, as well as a Member of the Audit Committee. She currently serves 3i Group plc as Group Finance Director, Board Member, and Member of the Executive and Investment Committees.
