Alleghany Corporation Announces Leadership Changes
Alleghany Corporation recently announced the following changes to its leadership team:
- Joseph P. Brandon has been elected as a Member of the company’s Board of Directors, effective at the end of 2021. He will also be promoted to President, beginning April 23, 2021. In both roles, he will succeed Weston M. Hicks, who will be retiring as Director at the year’s end. Currently, Joseph serves as Executive Vice President, and was previously a Consultant with the company. He joined from General Re, where he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
- Kerry J. Jacobs will be elevated to Executive Vice President, effective April 23, 2021. She will supersede Joseph P. Brandon after his promotion commences. Kerry is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and has previously been Vice President of Finance and Chief Risk Officer. Earlier in her career, she also held leadership positions with Gerson Lehrman Group and Deutsche Bank.
Alleghany Corporation owns and supports certain operating subsidiaries and investments, anchored by a core position in property and casualty reinsurance and insurance. The New York City-based firm posted that its total revenues were $2.3 billion for fiscal year 2020.
