
Salaam Coleman Smith Elected to The Gap’s Board of Directors
Gap Inc. has appointed Salaam Coleman Smith as a Member of the Board of Directors, commencing on March 22, 2021. Currently, Salaam serves on the Board of Directors for Pinterest as well. She is the former Executive Vice President, ABC Family / Freeform at The Walt Disney Company. She was previously with Comcast NBCUniversal, where she held senior roles, including President of Strategic Initiatives and President of Style Media. Prior to that, she served Viacom in various leadership roles, ultimately as Vice President of Nickelodeon and Nick-at-Nite. During her tenure with Viacom, she was an executive for MTV Networks International, and was instrumental in expanding Nickelodeon globally through directed programming strategy.
The Gap is a leading international specialty retailer with seven brands – Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta, INTERMIX, Hill City and Janie and Jack – almost 3,200 stores and more than 150,000 employees. The San Francisco, CA-based company posted net sales of $16.4 billion for fiscal year 2019.
