Dr. Cheryl Pegus Appointed Walmart’s Executive Vice President of Health and Wellness

Walmart has tapped Dr. Cheryl Pegus to lead as Executive Vice President of Health and Wellness beginning December 21, 2020. She will report to John Furner, Walmart U.S. Chief Executive Officer. Cheryl most recently served as President of Consumer Health Solutions and Chief Medical Officer for Cambia Health Solutions. She brings extensive executive experience to Walmart, having served in leadership roles with various health care/life sciences companies, national health systems and pharmacy retailers. She was previously with Walgreens, where she was the company’s first Chief Medical Officer. Cheryl has held leadership roles with several other notable companies, including Pfizer and Aetna. Before joining the corporate world, Cheryl was a Cardiologist in a private practice.

Based in Bentonville, AR, Walmart operates a large chain of discount department stores. Each week, over 265 million customers and members visit approximately 11,400 stores under 55 banners in 26 countries and eCommerce websites. With fiscal year 2020 revenue of $524 billion, Walmart employs over 2.2 million associates worldwide.
