Dispelix Oy Appoints Two New Members to Board of Directors
Dispelix Oy has announced that two new Members have been elected to the Board of Directors:
- Markku Hirvonen has been named Executive Chairman of the Board. He is a seasoned veteran in the high-tech space, with notable executive roles with Nokia, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, and VTI Technologies (now Murata Electronics). Markku is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hirvonenventures. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Rockley Photonics and Safera Oy, is a Member of the Advisor Board for Gorilla Acceleration, and is an Industrial Advisor in EQT’s Industrial Network.
- Thomas Alt has been appointed a Member of the Board of Directors. Thomas is well versed in the software and electronics industries. He currently serves as a Venture Partner with Atlantic Bridge. Earlier in his career, he founded Metaio before it was acquired by Apple. Thomas subsequently joined Apple as Director of Engineering before transitioning to Director of Procurement within Apple’s Strategic Deals group. He is also a volunteer Mentor with German Accelerator Inc., helping German start-ups in Silicon Valley.
Dispelix Oy is a designer and fabless manufacturer of mass-manufacturable diffractive waveguide displays and display modules for use in augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) eyewear and headsets. The company designs, sells, and supplies Dispelix-branded waveguide displays to product owners and their suppliers. It is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and is a spinoff company from the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
